Three Days of Shopping Around Lakeville

When the snow starts flying, take refuge from the cold with a little retail therapy! Staying in Lakeville puts you just a few miles from the best shopping destinations in the Twin Cities, whether you’re looking for quaint boutiques, luxury goods or great deals! You’ll shop til you drop with this three day itinerary.

DAY 1

Once you’ve checked into your Lakeville hotel, you’ll venture into historic downtown Lakeville for a hometown shopping and dining experience. First, you’ll check out Remedy Bar, an upscale boutique selling an exclusive selection of natural based products, including pain, sleep and anxiety remedies, supplements, body care, essential oils and pet CBD products. Across the street, you’ll find the Owl and the Unicorn, a gift store offering unique treasures such as greeting cards, soaps, lotions, men’s beard care, jams, syrups, home decor, vintage items, signs, coasters, candles, furniture, drink mixes and more.

If you’re up for an adventure before dinner, head to Minnesota’s only puzzle room, Labyrinth Puzzle Rooms & More. Instead of trying to unlock a final door, you and your team have 60 minutes to complete your assignment, which could involve puzzles, math problems, mazes and other brain teasers. Then, enjoy dinner at nearby B-52 Burgers & Brew, where you’ll discover award-winning burgers, plus a variety of apps, sandwiches and salads. If you’ve really worked up your appetite, you might try the “Mother of All Burgers,” a two pound burger featuring an array of tasty toppings and a considerably large side of french fries. If you finish it all in one hour, you’ll get a free t-shirt!

DAY 2

After a good night’s sleep, you’ll be heading to the Mall of America® in Bloomington, Minnesota. But first, you’ll want to stop at Cracker Barrel in Lakeville for a real homestyle breakfast to fuel your shopping journey. Choose from Cracker Barrel classics, build your own breakfast or nosh on some buttermilk pancakes. Now you’re ready to tackle the biggest mall in America!

With over 520 stores under one roof, there’s something for everyone at the Mall of America. From apparel and toys to electronics, specialty foods, beauty and so much more, it would take you 86 hours to visit every store in the mall for just 10 minutes each! And best of all – there’s no sales tax on clothing or shoes in Minnesota. If you’re in need of a break from shopping, the Mall of America is also home to some of the best family-friendly attractions such as Nickelodeon Universe®, SEA LIFE at Mall of America, FlyOver America flight simulation ride, The LEGO® Store and Moose Mountain Adventure Golf.

For dinner, you could choose from one of the mall’s many restaurants. However, you won’t be disappointed if you make your way back to Lakeville and visit Barley + Vine. Featuring fresh seafood and locally sourced ingredients, Barley + Vine brings chef-driven, New American dining to the vibrant south metro community. This modern, yet comfortable restaurant is known for their wine and cocktail slushies, juicy burgers, tasty daily specials and an atmosphere of warm hospitality.

DAY 3

On your last day in town, make your first stop of the day at Dunn Brothers Coffee in Lakeville for sustainably sourced coffee beans roasted in-house, fresh-baked pastries and an all-day breakfast menu. This will give you the energy you need for deal hunting at the Twin Cities Premium Outlets.

Located just 20 minutes away from Lakeville, you’ll find more than 85 stores all offering a savings of 25 to 65 percent. This half-mile long shopping center features brands like Nike, Under Armour, Coach, Brooks Brothers, Saks Fifth Avenue off Fifth, Polo Ralph Lauren and more.

For lunch or an early dinner (depending on how long you shopped), spice it up with a visit to Teresa’s Mexican Restaurant in Lakeville. Teresa’s serves up tasty, authentic Mexican food that has earned the loyalty of locals for years, along with a full bar and lunch specials every day of the week.
