The Ultimate Winter Adventure in Lakeville, MN

Adrenaline-inducing speeds. Breathtaking views. More than 50 miles of trails. Snow possibly 4 or more months a year. These are just a few of the many reasons Lakeville, MN is a premier destination for snowmobilers.

Located in Dakota County, which has the most trails of any county in the Twin Cities metro area, Lakeville boasts 57 miles of DNR grant trails, plus six miles of club trails that are not part of the grant system. Nearly all of the trails—98 percent—are located on private land and are made possible by generous landowners. There are roughly 14,000 snowmobiles registered to the area, a testament to the quality of the trails.

Lakeville’s trails connect to the east, south, and west with other club trails, including one trail that is part of the designated east/west corridor trail that runs across the entire state. This gives riders access to the more than 22,000 miles of snowmobile trails available across Minnesota. Whether it’s time for an all-day adventure or a quick ride after work, snow lovers have the best of all worlds in Lakeville.

The trails in Lakeville are marked and groomed by the Lakeville Sno-Trackers Snowmobile Club, which has been in existence for over 47 years. Trails are groomed with a Tucker Sno-Cat and a pull behind drag. When there is good snow, all trails are groomed once per week and many trails are groomed twice per week to ensure a smooth and pleasant ride. Many riders explore frozen lakes as well. Snowmobilers can park and ride at four convenient locations throughout Lakeville including restaurants. There are several snowmobile dealers in the area, including Leo’s South, MotoPrimo, Elko Motorsports, Lighthouse Motor Sports, and Cannon Power. Rent snowmobiles at Minnesota Snowmobile Rentals in neighboring Shakopee, MN.
