Known for its picturesque beauty, Lakeville, Minnesota, has long been a destination for enjoying an abundance of outdoor activities like biking on their 120 miles of paved trails. Any season is beautiful and fall’s tapestry of brilliantly changing colors dotted with scenic lakes and parks, it is an outdoor biking adventurer’s dream come true.

DAY 1
Whether cruising for cardio or out for a relaxing ride, you can experience Lakeville any way you wish on their extensive trail system. Choose a bike route that is comfortable for you as both on-road and paved trails make up 120 miles of biking pleasure in Lakeville.

Start the morning in historic downtown, or peddle your way there as greenways connect through our historic downtown, for a  stop at Mainstreet Coffee Cafe. Grab a bite of bakery and some espresso for instant energy to keep up with the kids.

Stop at Lakeville Area Arts Center for delights in our ArtWalk, and don’t leave without a selfie of yourself and our moose!

Our friends at Have Fun Biking has designed a 10 mile scenic circuit in Lakeville that takes you around Lake Marion for panoramic views, by Ritter Farm Park where you can meander through almost a 6-mile loop around prairie openings, through undeveloped woodlands, across low ridges and into shallow ravines.

B52’s Burgers + Brew

You’ve earned a special dinner at one of our over 60 restaurants. Locals say B52’s Burgers + Brew have the best burgers in the Twin Cities and challenge you to eat their mother of all burgers.  It’s two pounds of beef with four eggs, cheddar, BBQ pork, pepper jack cheese, onion tanglers, and bacon served up on a 15” French loaf and a basket of house cut fries. Try it with the father of all bloodies, a meal in itself.

A little evening music can often been found in Lakeville’s downtown or several other restaurants and clubs like Babe’s Music Bar, Barley + Vine, Lakeville Brewing Co., B52’s, Chart House and Red Fox Tavern.

DAY 2
Not yet done biking?  West Lake Marion Park Mountain Bike Trail offers five miles of off-road awesomeness. Biking enthusiasts helped design the trail’s multiple switchbacks, berms and rollers. It’s located at Casperson Park, where one of the city’s boat launches resides. Bring your fishing poles as there is off shore and pier fishing opportunities too.

Harvest season activities include apple picking, hayrides and corn mazes at Applewood Orchard.  In addition, attend the farmers markets and variety of neighboring orchards to pick up honey, jams, maple syrup, caramel apples and yummy baked goods.  Find the “perfect” pumpkin in one of our patches throughout the area.

Champion Valley Park

Or looking for something for the thrill-seeker in the family? Get ready to play on Minnesota’s ultimate playground!  How about a game of paintball. hurling axes, an archery contest. Champion Valley Park in Lakeville offers 150 acres of battlefields that accommodates age 8 and up.

If the unusual is your style, like a rocket ship or giant shark on the side of the road, take in Hot Sam’s Antique Store & Foto Park for what could be identified as a theme park, artist’s haven, junk yard and antique shop.  In any case, its a  perfect place to document your trip to Lakeville.
