The Grand Event: Lakeville’s Pan-O-Prog Parade

Everyone loves a good parade in the summer – and Lakeville’s Pan-O-Prog Grand Parade does not disappoint! Held on Saturday night, the parade dazzles spectators with vibrant floats, energetic performances, and a festive atmosphere. It’s a celebration of Lakeville’s rich heritage and community spirit that will have you cheering from the sidelines.

Minnesota’s Finest Parade

The Grand Parade, renowned as one of Minnesota’s finest, kicks off at 5:30 pm at the intersection of Holyoke Avenue and 210th Street, making its way north to Heritage Drive and ending at Iberia Avenue. The one-mile parade route will be lined with nearly 20,000 spectators, creating an electrifying atmosphere of celebration and community.

For two hours, spectators will be treated to a nonstop mix of floats, marching bands, dance troupes, and local community organizations and businesses. The parade is a visual and auditory delight for attendees of all ages. Of course, there is plenty of candy to be collected, too!


Before the grand parade starts, there are many activities to enjoy throughout Lakeville:

  • Pan-O-Prog Run: For those who enjoy a morning jog, the Pan-O-Prog Run features a 1-mile, 4-mile, and a free children’s 1/2 mile fun run.
  • Fishing Tournament: Early risers can start their day at the Fishing Tournament at Casperson Park.
  • Kiddie Parade: Kids ages 2 to 11 will enjoy getting dressed up for the Kiddie Parade, which makes its way down Holyoke Avenue at 10 am.
  • Flower & Foliage Show: Gardening enthusiasts can enjoy the Flower & Foliage Show at the Lakeville Area Arts Center, showcasing beautiful entries from amateur gardeners.
  • All Car Extravaganza Show: Car lovers will appreciate the car show in downtown Lakeville, displaying a stunning collection of classic and contemporary cars.
  • Lakeville Fire Department Waffle Breakfast: Fuel up for the fun day that lies ahead at this charitable breakfast, which is held at the Lakeville Fire Station #1.
  • Food vendors: Holyoke Avenue is lined with an array of food vendors, offering a wide range of delicious treats and meals.
  • Shopping: Explore unique items from local artisans in three different locations throughout Lakeville at the art sale, craft and vendor fair, and street market.
  • The Lions Beer Garden: The beer garden opens its doors at 11 am for the Craft Brew Review, where you can try a variety of brews and enjoy live music. Stay and watch the parade from your seat while enjoying fair food.

Party into the Night

After the parade, the festivities continue with many exciting events and activities that continue well into the evening:

  • Babe’s Hometown Bar: Babe’s Tent night is a popular event featuring live music under a large tent with a full outdoor bar.
  • B52 Burgers + Brew: This family friendly event has two live music shows, with a mini carnival, a two-story slide and games for kids.
  • Baldy’s Tailgate Bar: Enjoy a fun comedy show following the parade.
  • Lions Beer Garden: Located at the Lakeville Area Arts Center grounds, gather here for food, drinks, games and live music.
  • Market Plaza Stage: Enjoy live music before and after the parade at this outdoor stage.
  • Red Fox Tavern: Located just outside of Lakeville, the Red Fox Tavern offers live music away from the hustle and bustle of the main events.
  • Carnival rides: The Pan-O-Prog carnival is open until 11 pm and offers many fun rides and games.
